Linden Lodge

apogee community linden lodge school

Those of you who pay particular attention to our website will have read the article on our continuing support of Linden Lodge School in Wimbledon Park. Apogee have a long standing relationship with the school not just as a supplier of digital document solutions but as a promoter and supporter of the schools excellent work with pupils suffering with multi disabled visually impairment.

In March Roger Legate, the long serving principal of the school, took the time to write a letter summarising the continued support we offer to his school, pupils and fund-raising efforts a copy of which can be found on the news pages of our website www.apogeecorp.com.

Over the years we have strived to ensure we support the school’s document production requirements, adapting where necessary to meet their evolving needs but our relationship did not stop there. We began supporting the school’s fund-raising efforts simply by supplying prizes for school raffles and for school awards such as pupil of the year. Having supported the fund-raising efforts for a while we decided to up our game and become the lead sponsor for the schools Hydrotherapy pool complex raising £350,000 in 2003.

In 2006 the school launched a fund-raising
campaign to build The Harris Centre, a specialist
building for pupils with profound and multiple
learning needs which has become a state of the art
interactive environment thanks to the £140,000
raised.

Since 2008 Apogee have played a key role in
supporting Olympic diver Blake Aldridge who has
strong ties with the school working hard to raise
disability awareness through the “Everyone’s a
Champion” campaign. In the last 6 months Linden
Lodge has applied to become a special school for
Sensory & Physical Needs part of which is the development of a Performing Arts and Movement Development Centre.

This substantial project will be once again spearheaded by Apogee driven appeals and in honour of our continued support to the school Linden Lodge will be naming the new building “The Apogee Centre”.
