Apogee Announces 2012 Double Charity Challenge For Help a Capital Child

Not content with a truly monumental 5th in class result and an outstanding £18,800 raised just through last year’s Great River Race, Team Apogee have dusted off their oars once again to compete in this year’s event, raising awareness and funds once again for the Capital FM charity Help a Capital Child.

Team Apogee will be aiming to beat last years grand total of £28,000. As if a gruelling 21 mile row from London Docklands to Ham House, Richmond wasn’t enough, the team have also signed up to compete in a 300-mile cycle ride from London to Paris just four days later.

Team members Jason Collins, Barry Ferdinand, Lee Ironside, John Painter, Campbell Trainer and Femi Adigun are already in training for the events and are quietly confident having achieved such great results together in 2011.

Once again, Team Apogee will be raising funds for their 2012 Charity Partner, Help a Capital Child, through a combination of sponsorship and good old fashioned donations through their Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Apogee-Corporation

Help a Capital child was set up in 1975 to help disadvantaged young people in our local areas, throughout the UK. Thanks to the generosity of our kind supporters we raised in excess of £28,000 through a range of events in 2011.

Consistent with Apogee’s approach, the organisation has much bigger plans for 2012 to go that extra mile, in fact that extra 300 miles. We are hoping that our supporters can do the same.

We are aiming to raise as much awareness and, of course, funds we can in order to change the lives of as many young people as possible – with YOUR help we can.

Please spread the word and dig deep to help us achieve our more ambitious target of £30,000 or even more.

You can donate directly via our Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Apogee-Corporation or, if you would like to discuss how you can become involved and support us in our quest, contact our team at fundraising@apogeecorp.com The Great River Race 2012 will be taking place on Saturday 15th September 2012 followed by the London to Paris cycle Ride from 19th to 23rd September 2012. You can find out more details on both events by visiting our Just Giving site.
